Eligibility

Currently registered graduate students at the University of Maryland College Park who pay student activity fees are eligible for our services. Services are provided free of charge to eligible students. We are required to confirm your student status before you use our services. Please have your student ID handy whenever you call or come in to see us.

Graduate students at Shady Grove, UMUC or other campuses not requiring payment of student activity fees are not eligible. We cannot provide services to alumni, staff, faculty, or other members of the campus community.

Our office cannot provide assistance where there is a conflict or potential conflict of interest between two or more graduate students.    If your case involves another graduate student, we will evaluate whether a conflict of interest exists (as the term is defined by the rules of professional conduct that apply to attorneys and other legal staff) and provide referrals to other campus or outside offices if necessary.
